Relevant CAT: ConcepTests
Discipline: Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Physics
Description:
The Project Galileo site has a variety of teaching materials that are based on research in science education. The site, maintained by Harvard Professor Eric Mazur and colleagues, includes an extensive set of resources for teaching with ConcepTests in astronomy, biology, chemistry, and physics. Physics ConcepTests are stored in a database, from which users can select sets of ConcepTests for use in their classes. From these selected sets of ConcepTests, the database automatically generates PDF files in overhead transparency format and review web pages for students (hosted on the Project Galileo server). Users are encouraged to contribute their own questions as well, also through the Web interface. A complete set of ConcepTests for a year-long course in introductory physics is available, as well as many ConcepTests on more advanced topics.
